I discovered my interest in Art at a young age. Early in my childhood I started entertaining myself by drawing small sketches and caricaturas. They became popular and were collected among friends and family. Being encouraged, I gravitated to portraiture and figurative art. I grew up influenced by Art of Nineteenth and early Twentieth Centuries and I utilize the traditional method and techniques. At the same time, by drawing inspiration from the world around me, I try to achieve a contemporary feel in my work. My goal is truthfully depicting the inner beauty and emotional nuances of my subject matter. What intrigues me the most is uniqueness, emotions, and harmony I see in the faces and scenes around me.
Learning in art is never-ending and exciting journey. I spent much time acquiring and improving my skills at the California Art Institute and Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art. I was privileged to study with amazing artists Glen Orbik, Ignat Ignatov. When I struggle to find my own path, the works of John Singer Sargent, Ilia Repin, Sergey Bongart, and Richard Schmid guided me.
I participated in numerous national exhibitions and art shows. My paintings could be found in private collections nationwide, as well as in Italy, Japan, Chili, and Peru.
